Dr Grelling is a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in the treatment of adults with anxiety, depression and relationship problems. Dr. Grelling has extensive training and experience in helping women who are dealing with anxiety and/or depression during pregnancy, the postpartum period, and throughout motherhood. She integrates a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches in a manner that is compassionate and empowering. While spending most of her professional time providing therapy, Dr. Grelling has also lectured to professional groups, consulted to government agencies, trained staff and graduate students, and focused her research and ongoing education on women's mental health.
In addition to her private practice in Orinda, Dr. Grelling works for Kaiser Permanente in Antioch, where she serves as the "Anxiety Champion" and "Eating Disorders Champion" for the adult team in the Department of Mental Health.
Previously, Dr. Grelling was on the clnical staff of The Renfrew Center, one of the nation's pre-eminent treatment facilities for women's mental health and eating disorders. She led intensive outpatient groups there, provided individual outpatient therapy and supervised clinical staff. She has also served as a clinical supervisor of graduate students while working as the Coordinator of the Adult Outpatient Program in the Psychology Services Center of Nova Southeastern University. At Atlantic Shores Healthcare, in south Florida she was critical in the design and implementation of a predoctoral internship program, and authored the successful self-study application for the program's APA accreditation.
Dr. Grelling graduated magna cum laude with her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Maryland in College Park, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She completed an APA-accredited internship program at Woodburn Center for Community Mental Health.
